Handmade California Black Walnut Mini Tarot Deck Box Set w/ Borderless Mini Tarot Cards

Are you tired of travel sized tarot decks being beat to hell in your bag and having to protect them by purposing an overly bulky box? That's why I made this, a simple beautiful wood box made specifically for the Smith-Waite Tarot Deck Borderless Miniature Edition it comes with.

To keep things as human and elemental as possible this is handmade with hand tools from local California Black Walnut and closed with a simple raw strip of vegetable tanned leather hand stitched to the box. Each box is absolutely unique with dramatic wood grain and tool marks (character) from the hand of the maker, me.

This species of walnut, Juglans Californica, California Black Walnut, Claro Walnut, is native to California and is used as a hearty root stock in orchards for grafting other walnut species. The Druid's Garden Blog has a lovely entry about the walnut tree and its food, medicinal, folklore and magical associations. What speaks most to me are the folk stories of wondrous things that can be found hidden and protected inside a walnut shell, like the great wisdom that is kept by this small container.
